Hair & Makeup Artist Expectations – Fashion Beyond Limits Fashion Show
Our fashion show relies on a skilled, reliable, and creative glam team to bring each designer’s vision to life.
To ensure a smooth, professional, and cohesive production, we ask all hair and makeup artists to meet the following expectations:
Professional Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and be fully prepared with your kit, tools, and products
- Review and follow the creative direction provided by designers, stylists, or the lead HMUA
- Complete hair and/or makeup looks within the assigned time frame
- Maintain consistency across models to match the show’s theme and aesthetic
- Be flexible and able to adjust looks quickly if needed
- Assist with touch‑ups throughout the event, including backstage during lineup and transitions
Backstage Conduct
- Maintain a calm, organized, and professional workspace
- Treat all models, staff, and designers with respect
- Communicate clearly with the production team regarding timing or any challenges
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Follow all backstage rules and safety guidelines
Appearance & Presentation
- Dress in all black or production‑approved attire
- Present yourself professionally, as you are part of the show’s creative team
- Keep your kit clean, sanitized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work cooperatively with other hair and makeup artists
- Support the lead HMUA and follow their direction
- Be open to feedback and willing to make adjustments
- Help ensure models move through glam in an organized, timely manner
